At Ken Gosney Photography we do things differently than most other high school senior studios. We believe in making this a once in a lifetime experience with our laidback style and approach. We have an expert in photography, team members with unmatched customer service, a photographic retouch specialist that touches up and color balances every image, and a lab with unbeatable print quality. The Ken Gosney Photography team is focused on you, delivering outstanding service at an unbelievable value.
The Photographer
Ken Gosney is a skilled photographer who will create senior portraits that will represent you. The casual way he photographs will give you images that closely tell the story of your senior year. His approach to photographing high school seniors is much how he runs his studio - fun, carefree, no-stress and organized. He takes the stress off of you and makes sure you are relaxed and having fun.
Our Process
Our process is designed to make it easy for you to choose your photographer and to make this photography experience fun and stress-free. All of our packages are set up to meet your needs. Our packages DO NOT have session fees, time limits, outfit limits, exposure limits, or location limits. We do not believe in limiting our clients! We will help you coordinate your selection of outfits and portrait locations that will suit your needs and complement the style of photography you are looking for. On average, our sessions last 2-3 hours, with half of that time spent inside the studio, and the other half on location.
Ken has many great locations that he often uses, but he is always open to your suggestions. We encourage you to be creative with your own props and to think of things that 10 years down the road you will want to look back on from your senior year, like a friend, your car, sports uniforms, or anything else that helps to represent you, as a high school senior. As you will see in our senior portfolio, we do not use many of our own props in the pictures because we want your pictures to be about you. We want you to come to the studio relaxed and ready for some fun. Ken always photographs at an upbeat fast pace, making you look your best, without a lot of overdone posing and head tilts. We want you to look natural in your pictures without you getting bored during your shoot, so we choose to not overdo the placement of your hands, feet, and head. Many photographers spend so much of their time on posing and head tilts, other unnecessary things that they end up making you look bored and uncomfortable in your pictures. Yes we worry about these things too, but we arrange you in a way that is natural, comfortable, and flattering.
What to bring
Try to come to your session looking natural. Bring clothing that is neat, clean, and wrinkle free. Although we have a great team of photo retouching specialists, it’s very hard to get wrinkles out. We also suggest staying away from shirts that have a lot of wording on them. Bring summer looks, but also bring a winter outfit or two. Don't forget to bring in special props that represent you and your style. Ken will have just met you, so we encourage you to bring a friend or a parent with you, because they know your true smiles.
For the ladies
Make sure you bring any hair and makeup items that you will need to do touch ups along the way. If you don't wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis, we don’t recommend wearing a lot in your pictures - it will just look unnatural. Don't overdo it, be yourself! Bring a few different kinds of earrings, necklaces, shoes, etc. If you are going to get your hair cut for your pictures, make sure it’s a few days before… just in case. We always recommend doing your hair yourself on the day of your session because you may not like how the stylist fixes it.
For the guys
Bring clothing that you are comfortable in. Bring a good mix of dressier and casual clothing. Many guys don't think they will need a few pairs of shoes, but you will. Bring a pair of casual shoes and a pair of gym shoes. If you wear hats a lot, don't forget to bring some of your favorites because we can do a few shots with them. Facial hair always shows up in pictures, so be sure to shave before you come.
Prop suggestions
Here are a few examples other seniors have brought in for their sessions - friends, dogs, cats, cars, trucks, dirt bikes, purses, sports uniforms, medals and awards, art, guns, sunglasses, winter coats, sports team items, collectibles, siblings, souvenirs, band instruments - Really anything goes with us!
Payment and Timeliness
Unlike many other photography studios, we don’t have session fees for seniors, so on the day of your session we ask that you pick one of our collections. Half of that package price, plus tax is due that day, and the remainder will be due once your proofs come in. All sittings should be scheduled 2 - 4 weeks in advance. Proof albums or contact sheets will be provided within 2 - 4 weeks from your sitting date. All orders should be placed within 1 month of receiving your proof album. Your photos will remain on file for one year, and reprint orders can be placed within that time frame. All prices are subject to change. All packages are set up to meet your needs. If an item in a package is not needed, the package price will remain the same.
