The Photographer
Ken Gosney is a skilled photographer who will create portraits that represent the ever changing stages of your life. His approach to photographing children and families is much how he runs his studio - fun, carefree, no-stress and organized. He always makes sure you are relaxed and having fun.

Our Process
Our process is designed to make it easy for you to choose your photographer and to make your experience enjoyable. All of our packages are set up to meet your needs. We do not have time limits, outfit limits, exposure limits, or location limits. We do not believe in limiting our clients, and most of our packages do not have sitting fees. We will help you coordinate your selection of outfits and portrait locations that will suit your needs and complement the style of photography you are looking for. On average, our sessions last about an hour, and we offer both in studio and on location sessions at no additional cost. Ken has many great locations that he often uses, but he is always open for your suggestions. We encourage you to bring items to your session that represent your child. As you will see in our portfolio, we do not use many of our own props because we want your pictures to be about you and your family. On the day of your session we will capture you! We want you to come to the studio and be ready for some fun. Ken always photographs at an upbeat, fast pace. We want you to look natural in your pictures so we choose to not overdue posing and stress over the placement of your hands, feet, and head. Many photographers spend so much of their time on head tilts and other unnecessary posing that they end up making you look uncomfortable in your photographs and risk losing the interest of your children. Yes, we worry about these things too, but Ken will arrange you in a way that is natural, comfortable, and flattering and move at a fast pace to maintain your child’s interest.

What to bring
Try to come to your session looking natural. Bring clothing that is neat, clean, and wrinkle free. Although we have a great team of photo retouching specialists, it’s very hard to get wrinkles out. For group shots, make sure your outfits coordinate with each other. When we shoot, we do many different types of photos - from close ups to full lengths - so make sure your kids have on shoes and socks that you will want to be in the picture. Bare feet are always great too! Parents, be ready to get down on the ground with Ken so that you can help get those great smiles from your children. We never limit you on the number of outfits you bring, but please consider how well your child will handle all of the changes. For this reason we typically start the session with your favorite, just in case your little one can’t go on any longer. We don't want to miss the important ones! We always encourage parents to bring in clothing that your children will be comfortable in and have worn before. Make sure you bring a brush and hair products to do touch ups too!

Ken's approach to getting the smiles
Ken is a very outgoing person and loves children. He has a 4 year old himself so he knows how to gain those important smiles. Also, helping him out in this area was his previous job working in a children’s photography studio as a manager and head photographer. He brings a unique approach to get your children to give a real smile. Ken likes for your children to be able to come into the studio and just “hangout” for a few minutes to get accustomed to their new surroundings. Ken Gosney Photography is not like most retail photography style studios were you feel like you are in a closet. Our studio is very open and clutter free. Once the session starts, Ken will work with your child to get them to give a smile that is natural. Very rarely will he resort to the “Say Cheese” phrase because that often gives a very unnatural smile. Depending on how things are going, Ken may request a parent to help on gaining smiles. We are a digital studio, so you can see each shot to make sure we have the great smiles that you are looking for before we move on to the next pose. We think the best thing about our approach to children and family photography is that we are flexible - if your child needs a break to eat or be changed, then we stop your session and give you the time to do so. Flexibility is the key to a successful session.

Payment and Timeliness
Unlike many other photography studios, most of our packages include a free sitting, so the day of your session we ask that you pick one our collections. Half of the package price plus tax is due that day, and the other half is due once your proofs come in. All sittings should be scheduled 2 - 4 weeks in advance. Proof albums or contact sheets will be provided within 2 - 4 weeks from your sitting date. All orders should be placed within one month of receiving your proof album. Photos will remain on file for one year and reprint orders can be placed within that time frame. (All prices are subject to change.) All packages are set up to meet your needs; if an item in a package is not needed, the package price will remain the same.
